In order to avoid delays in processing PTIs, please strictly follow these guidelines:
- Use the updated (2022) PTI LOU. This updated version now includes additional information on benefit and retirement contribution eligibility, and should be used for all future TPT teaching assignments as well as TPT rehires. If the previous Letter of Understanding has already been issued to an adjunct faculty member for inter-session or summer courses, it can be submitted via ePAF.
- If changes need to be made to the PTI LOU after the PTI has signed it, the department is required to submit a new PTI LOU with new signatures on it (see these details).
- When filling out the PTI LOUs and/or Teaching Overload/Summer Session Instruction Agreement forms, use the approved PTI allocation spreadsheet provided by Dr. Marshall.
- Hold all PTI LOUs/Teaching Overload/Summer Session Instruction Agreement forms until minimum enrollments have been met. The minimum enrollments are:
- 15 students for Undergraduate courses
- 10 students for 400/500 level courses
- 06 students for graduate level courses
- Once enrollments have been met, email PTI LOUs including enrollment information to:
- asadmin@unm.edu (NEW)
- Brisha Cruz (NEW)
- Shirley Rey
NOTE: All PTI LOUs and Teaching Overload/Summer Session Instruction Agreement forms will be sent back to the departments for processing. If you find that there is no “FT” number or “T1” suffix that you can use in the ePAF, you will need to email them to OFAS for manual entry.
