Arts & Sciences Space Requests

The appropriate use of space in the College of Arts & Sciences is critical for achieving the College’s mission to provide “support, structure, consistency and service to enhance scholarship and student success” and to “make creative use of our resources to further the values of the University of New Mexico and to promote excellence in faculty, staff and students.”

The College's Space Request Process informs the Dean of our Units’ needs and enables us to ensure adequate support is provided.

Follow these steps based on type of request:

  • Cleaning and/or general maintenance

    • Submit a SERVICE REQUEST via Facilities Management’s iService Desk
       

  • Refresh (carpet & paint)

    • Submit a PROJECT REQUEST (Non BR&R) via Facilities Management’s iService Desk

    • Forward the email confirming project request creation to CASspace@unm.edu
       

  • Renovate or Remodel

    • Submit a PROJECT REQUEST (Non BR&R) via Facilities Management’s iService Desk

  • Additional Space

    • Complete the CAS Space Request Form

    • The request will be reviewed by the College of A&S Space Allocation Committee

      • A response will be provided within 90 days
         

  • Capital Request for New Space or New Building

    • Email Associate Dean Lippitt regarding your needs and Cc Karen Roberts

    • Schedule a meeting with Dr. Lippitt and/or the Dean by contacting Alice Hollow Horn.

      • Once approval to move forward has been granted by the Dean:

        • A Facility Investment Needs (FIN) REQUEST will be submitted to the Provost's Office

        • Forward (or Cc) all communication regarding this project to CASspace@unm.edu
