Effective immediately, the Salary Placement and Equity Tool (SPET) will now replace the existing Equity Grid. For Salary determination and Internal Equity at the Department/Unit ORG Level 5, please begin using the New Staff Justification of Hire Memo now.

HR Staffing Requests will be reviewed in accordance to the new policy and guidelines criteria, and the SPET will be required for New Hires, Rehires, Promotions (competitively selected for a position in a higher, lower, or same grade), Transfers, Reclassifications, Career Ladders, and Demotions.  It does NOT need to be included with any Union Staff position requests above. However because the Internal Equity policy must still be followed, please continue to use the original Equity Grid when you submit hires, rehire, and promotions into Union Staff positions as you did before—until further notice.
